Agenda | Nursing School Participants | Information/Details | UPDATED: Bus Transportation

On April 16, New York’s nurses, nursing students, and patients will fill the halls of the State Capitol like never before. We’ll be there to educate our lawmakers about the issues that matter most to us and our patients:

We are going to send our elected officials a strong message and highlight the critical role that nurses play in all aspects of our healthcare system.

Every nurse and nursing student has a powerful story to tell — but our voices are only heard when we work together. And when we go as a group, it makes talking to lawmakers and their staff easier — and even fun!

Join nurses from across the state at this year’s NYSNA Lobby Day.

NEW this year: Lobbying appointments will be
scheduled by NYSNA and you will be assigned to a regional group.
Confirmation of your group and lobbying appointment will be sent prior to the event.

Purpose

NYSNA Lobby Day is designed to prepare registered nurses and nursing students for promoting NYSNA’s legislative agenda. Experience advocating for your profession!

Objectives

At the conclusion of NYSNA Lobby Day, the participant will be able to:

  1. Analyze the legislative and political environment and the implications for effective lobbying.
  2. Discover the importance of nurse advocacy.
  3. Interpret the effects of lobbying on the nursing environment.
