Today the New York City Council passed a proclamation, honoring Bellevue Hospital nurses for heroism during Hurricane Sandy.
Council member Dan Garodnick presented the proclamation, and Speaker Christine Quinn stopped by afterwards to express her thanks.
“The nurses managed to help safely evacuate a 13-story hospital in the dark, which included a patient going through open heart surgery,” said Council Member Garodnick. “It sounds like something out of a movie, and we are extremely grateful for their efforts.”
