Nurses and caregivers at at New London’s Lawrence + Memorial Hospital in Connecticut are locked out of their jobs and have been unable to return to caring for their patients since Saturday night.
Hospital management locked out the 800 workers after they went on a 5-day strike in response to management’s failure to adequately address their patient care concerns in contract negotiations.
The lockout is a callous disregard for the community’s health — management is punishing nurses and caregivers at the expense of patient care.
