Approximately 400 Montefiore Medical Center nurses rallied in front of the hospital on May 11, to protest lack of enforcement of agreed-upon nurse patient ratios, and Montefiore management’s attempts to scale back the nurse’s health and pension benefits.

The nurses sang “We Need a Contract” to the tune of “Under the Boardwalk”, listened to speakers, and then picketed.

The nurses have been without a contract for 16 months, and refused the hospital’s offer of breakfast and flashlights for Nurses Week.
