Tentative agreement reached at Samaritan Medical Center

WATERTOWN, Oct. 6, 2009 -- Negotiators for registered nurses and management at Samaritan Medical Center reached a tentative agreement early this morning on a new contract. The 390 RNs are represented by the New York State Nurses Association. A ratification vote will be held within the next week. Details of the agreement will be available after ratification.

The New York State Nurses Association is the voice for nursing in the Empire State. With more than 37,000 members, it is the state's largest union and professional association for registered nurses. It supports nurses and nursing practice through education, research, legislative advocacy, and collective bargaining.
