UTICA, Oct. 29, 2009 – Registered nurses and management at St. Elizabeth Medical Center reached a tentative agreement Thursday on a new contract. Details of the agreement will be available after it is approved by the nurses. Voting is to be held on Nov. 5 and 6. The facility’s 550 RNs are represented for collective bargaining by the New York State Nurses Association.
The New York State Nurses Association is the voice for nursing in the Empire State. With more than 37,000 members, it is the state's largest union and professional association for registered nurses. It supports nurses and nursing practice through education, research, legislative advocacy, and collective bargaining.
