NEW YORK NURSE: December 2010

I’m NYSNA!

Stop and think about how the business side of caring and care delivery has presented registered nurses with several challenges to our professional careers. Nurse-to-patient ratios, medical-to-cost ratios, mandatory overtime, and consolidation have all become major survival issues. Through all these issues, NYSNA has provided proven leadership. Nurses thrive on survival, but nurses need each other to survive. When we felt our capacity to practice good care delivery was overshadowed by the politics of the Health Alliance merger, it was NYSNA that helped us stay united under our own elected team leaders. We can’t stand alone. NYSNA is committed to our unified strength. We have no doubts – supporting NYSNA is supporting ourselves!
