NEW YORK NURSE: July/August 2011

I’m NYSNA!

“I became a NYSNA member when I graduated in 1975 and have been a regular attendee of NYSNA’s annual convention. Someone recently asked me why I make the effort to attend NYSNA’s convention each year. That’s simple to answer. Convention is my time for networking with colleagues, and for professional development through the CEs that are offered— which include updates on current nursing and healthcare issues at local, state, federal and global levels. In addition, and perhaps most importantly, as a registered professional nurse, a nursing leader, a patient/community advocate, mentor, and educator I consider it my responsibility to be involved. I commit to that responsibility through attendance at convention. It allows me the opportunity to share my experience and expertise on issues such as advancement and sustainability, engage with colleagues throughout the profession, and participate in the work of the association. I invite you to share the experience.”
