NEW YORK NURSE: June 2011

New association management system launches

by John A. Hamelin

This summer will see the launch of an entirely new association management system (AMS) behind the scenes at NYSNA. With the exception of a few style upgrades, the goal of the software is for members to experience a seamless transition in their online experience.

The system, customized for NYSNA, was developed by Aptify, Inc., a Washington, D.C.-based company that specializes in business software solutions for associations. For NYSNA, Aptify has created a product that will directly affect a wide range of association activities, including membership profiles, governmental affairs outreach, nursing education, and collective bargaining programs and services. While the system will primarily benefit NYSNA’s members, it will also offer a platform for non-members to post job opportunities, register for select workshops, seminars and events sponsored by NYSNA, and conduct business transactions with the association.

In development for the past eighteen months, NYSNA’s new association management system will begin to roll out in June, with the transition expected to continue throughout the remainder of 2011. Members should look for more information and updates on NYSNA’s new AMS online at www.nysna.org.
