NEW YORK NURSE: June 2011
As part of a year-long collaboration with the American Heart Association (AHA), designed to raise the association’s visibility and reinforce the important role of nurses in primary care, NYSNA recently sponsored the AHA BetterU program. The 12-week challenge helped nine Albany-area women learn how to eat better and incorporate exercise into a sustainable, heart-healthy lifestyle. The women celebrated completing the BetterU program at the AHA’s Go Red for Women Luncheon on May 18 in Troy, NY. The AHA’s Go Red for Women initiative seeks to raise awareness about and fight the number one cause of death in women, heart disease.
