Board action
At its meeting on August 25, 2011, the NYSNA Board of Directors:
- established a regional district reorganization taskforce and set forth parameters for appointments
- decided to publish the tabulation of the ballots for the 2011 association-wide election on the members only website with a notation on the public website directing members to the location of the published tally on the members only site and to notify members of the election tally by mail
- referred to the Committee on Finance investigation of obtaining a socially responsible investment fund manager in emerging markets
- approved an additional contribution of $1.5 million toward down payment for 40 Rector Street to come from operations, if possible, or investments
- approved sponsorship of the annual Nurses’ House Dolphin Award Ceremony at the gold/corporate level of $1,000
- approved creation of a mechanism to promote donating to Nurses’ House on the part of the broader network including nursing departments of facilities, nursing schools and other bodies
- approved NYSNA-PAC endorsement recommendations New York State Assembly special elections
- approved updates of position statements on public health and workplace violence
- approved changes to Strategic Plan and posting third-quarter report on website
- approved appointments to committees and councils for regular terms beginning at the end of the 2010 Voting Body
- approved nominations for 2012 ANA National Awards
