NEW YORK NURSE: March/April 2012
by John A. Hamelin
NYSNA members are offered a wealth of online resources to enhance their participation in the Association — www.nysna.org, eleaRN™, NYSNA’s Facebook page… and most importantly members.nysna.org, the principal customized online resource for NYSNA members.
Members.nysna.org was created to be the primary repository for content and materials specific to the Association’s individual members – those represented for collective bargaining as well as individuals not covered by union representation. It offers members information specific to the facility identified as their employer, or to the region of the state where the member resides. A navigation bar provides individuals with their own account profile (which can be updated), access to current association documents and forms, board policies, a history profile of continuing education hours, as well as convenient links to NYSNA’s Legislative Action Center, a comprehensive selection of member benefits and other features specific to NYSNA’s 37,000 members.
Access is free. All you need to register is your six digit NYSNA member ID number, provided on your membership card (as well as on the mailing label area of New York Nurse), or obtained with an e-mail to email@example.com. Once you are registered, you can create a username and password to return for updates and new information. You can review your current contract, register for an online workshop happening at your facility or other locations, find listings of upcoming meetings or events, and much more. The Members Only section links to the public NYSNA website as well, and to other online resources.
If you’re not already a member, take a minute and see how easy it is to join your NYSNA colleagues online at members.nysna.org!
