The Bronx’s Castle Hill neighborhood is fighting to save our community hospital.
On Friday, January 11, RNs and community supporters went to homes and small businesses and put up hundreds of signs saying “Save Westchester Square.”
Monte is bidding to buy the hospital, but administrators won’t commit to keeping it open as a full-service hospital.
“This is my community hospital,” said Jeannette Torres, RN. “I chose to work at Westchester Square because I care about my community and my neighbors.”
“I was born at Westchester Square,” said Clare Hughes, RN. “It’s like my second home. We’re going to fight to keep Westchester Square a full-service hospital.”
