Over the past few years, NYSNA nurses have mobilized like never before to win fair contracts, improve conditions for our patients, and to protect access to quality healthcare for all New Yorkers.
If we want to keep winning for our patients – to pass Safe RN Staffing legislation and Single Payer – then all of us need to get to the polls on November 4 so that we can elect legislators who will stand with us in putting patients first.
Every vote counts!
But did you know that in 2012, thousands of New Yorkers didn't even vote because they missed a registration deadline or didn't even know how to register to vote.
That’s why this year, NYSNA RNs are getting ready to hit the streets to make sure that all of our colleagues turn out to vote for legislative and congressional candidates who can best represent frontline nurses and our patients.
If you are a New York State resident, please register to vote now. Eligible New Yorkers who are not already registered must do so by this Friday, October 10 in order to vote in the November election.
You can register to vote by downloading a voter registration form or you can register to vote online.
People who are unsure whether they are registered, or wish to verify their current address, may look-up their current voting status.
All of these elections are incredibly important, and we must do all we can to help elect those who will stand with us to advocate for our patients.
We cannot afford to sit this election out. Our patients are counting on us!
