NYSNA members welcomed the Lunar New Year by marching in one of the city’s most festive and colorful parades. The parade, which winds down the streets of Manhattan’s Chinatown, draws hundreds of thousands of spectators. NYSNA nurses joined lion and dragon dancers, drummers and colorful floats in this spirited celebration of Asian culture and community. The crowd warmly welcomed NYSNA members, yelling, “We love nurses!” and, “Hooray Nurses!” as the NYSNA contingent marched by. This was NYSNA’s first time marching in the Lunar New Year Parade, but it won’t be our last! Be sure to join us next year as we welcome the Year of the Monkey!
