Director, Labor Education
POSITION SUMMARY: This position will report to the Deputy Field Director. The Director of Labor Education is responsible for leading and directing the Labor Education Department, contributing to the implementation of NYSNA's goals and objectives through developing and implementing the Union’s Labor Education programs, labor education and professional training of members, member leaders and NYSNA staff.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate, create and teach labor education in support of NYSNA's transformation, goals and campaigns. This includes classes, member leader training programs, staff development programs, conferences, lobby days and the Delegated Convention.
- Collaborate with the NYSNA staff leadership, NYSNA Board members and other unions, organizations and educational institutions to meet NYSNA's goals in labor education and staff development.
- Contribute to the development of current and new NYSNA member leaders.
- Teach, observe and mentor departmental staff, field staff and consultants in labor and political economy education and staff development.
- Supervise and evaluate staff
- Guide and direct labor education departmental staff and consultants
