On Thursday, Sept. 14, and in the lead up to Climate Week in New York City, NYSNA was proud to join with labor unions and advocacy groups in front of City Hall to introduce a bill to accelerate the building of solar power on public buildings and on public land.
NYC Health+Hospitals/ Harlem NYSNA nurse leader Marion Parkins, RN, testified against lead poisoning in a New York City Council joint hearing from the Committee on Housing and Buildings and Committee on Health.
Climate change is a health emergency, particularly in New York City, where extreme inequality and geography susceptible to rising sea levels and extreme weather are a reality. NYSNA is part of Climate Jobs NY, a union-led coalition that seeks proactive solutions to the climate crisis.
