POSTPONED: NYSNA NURSES AT ONEIDA SPEAK OUT
Speakout planned for tomorrow is postponed due to Winter Weather Advisory. Rescheduled date to follow.
Oneida, NY– The speakout originally planned for Wednesday, Jan. 8, New York State Nurses Association (NYSNA) nurses at Oneida Health Hospital will be postponed.
Nurses planned to hold a speak out to demand that management negotiate and settle a fair contract with safe staffing and a real plan to retain nurses for safe patient care.
On Dec. 30, the day before their contract expired, hospital management abruptly offered a disrespectful so-called ‘final offer’ and now refuse to continue to bargain. Nurses are demanding clear, enforceable safe staffing standards, to comply with New York state law, and wages and benefits that would keep nurses at the bedside.
WHO: Dozens of NYSNA nurses and community allies, including Central New York Area Labor Federation President Ann Marie Taliercio
WHAT: Oneida nurses and allies speak out for safe staffing and a fair contract
WHEN: POSTPONED. Date to follow.
WHERE: Genessee St. and Seneca St.
For months, nurses at Oneida have been fighting for a contract that will help them provide the safe, quality patient care the community deserves. NYSNA nurses are speaking out to demand that hospital administrators follow the staffing law and invest in recruiting and retaining more nurses for safe, quality care.
