ALBANY MED NURSES TO MAKE MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT AFTER FIRST FULL DAY OF BARGAINING IN THE NEW YEAR

After Nurses Head Back to Negotiations with an Expired Contract, They Prepare to Make an Announcement on Progress and the Hospital Staffing Crisis

Albany, N.Y.– Nurses are heading back to the negotiating table on Monday, Feb. 24 for the second time in 2025. Their first negotiation session with the Albany Medical Center administration in the New Year was on Jan. 24, lasted only half a day, and saw very little progress. Nurses' contract expired on July 31, 2024, and they have been bargaining with a federal mediator since August 2024.

Nurses have been fighting for a fair union contract with a comprehensive plan to recruit and retain nurses and ensure quality care for the community by including nurses in solving the staffing crisis at the hospital. NYSNA nurses are prepared to make a major announcement regarding the status of Albany Med’s staffing crisis and the progress of negotiations on Tuesday, Feb. 25.
