NYSNA stands in solidarity with the Federation of Teachers of Puerto Rico (FMPR) as they lead teachers, students, and parents in a one-day work stoppage to protest:

  • Hundreds of baseless school closings
  • Privatization of public education and “reform” changes
  • Educational chaos across the country as a result
  • Stagnation of repairs of school plants, even one year after the Hurricane
  • Abrogation of labor laws that compensate and protect school workers
  • Unilateral changes to pensions

As nurses, we applaud them for taking a stand for their students. We know you’ll win.
