NYSNA is proud to stand with the teachers in Los Angeles County as their union is asking for a 6.5% percent raise and for the district to increase spending to improve the quality in students’ education.
On Monday, over 30,000 teachers in Los Angeles went on strike to ensure their voices were heard and the county mandates these critical requirements. Los Angeles is the second-largest school district in the country, and now they are joining a national movement for better school funding and fair wages.
Teachers dedicate their lives to educate future generations, and they must work in conditions that allow them to do so. To learn more about the LA Teachers Strike, click here!
