Over 1,700 nurses at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital (RWJUH) in New Brunswick, New Jersey, represented by United Steelworkers went on strike last Friday after contract talks with their employer stalled. Nurses rejected the hospital’s offer last Wednesday and remain on the picket line over issues of staffing levels and pay.

NYSNA nurses are in solidarity with RWJUH nurses and joined them at the picket line this morning! We will also be delivering food to the picket line on Monday, Aug. 14 to keep their spirits high. We ask our nurses to respect the picket line and refuse to take agency work at this facility. RWJUH nurses are also asking the community to contact Jill Anderson, corporate vice president of patient experience, at jill.anderson@rwjbh.org or call (609) 503-1747 and ask her to settle a fair contract and bring the nurses back to the bedside!
