The last year has been a very difficult one for the people of the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico. Hurricanes Irma and Maria devastated the Caribbean, and the people are still trying to account for the toll.

NYSNA nurses are currently in the Dominican Republic for their latest medical mission. On their first day, they began in Altos de Friusa, Punta Canta.

The last year has been a very difficult one for our brothers and sisters from Puerto Rico.

The medical mission to Mexico held in the City of Hidalgo and Ejido La Libertad was a huge success! Hosted by Ciudad de Hidalgo, we served about 500 patients, mostly women and children (176 pediatrics patients). We provided free medical screening, consultation and medicine.

In late February, a delegation of five NYSNA nurses traveled to India for our first-ever International Solidarity Mission to that country. Members of the United Nurses Association (UNA), a union of 5 million nurses in India,
