NYSNA Nurses and 1199 SEIU Healthcare workers from Fresenius Medical Care are continuing negotiations with management towards a new contract.

Nursing was the subject of a lengthy and engaging segment on WNYC’s “The Brian Lehrer Show” on April 30. With his guest, author Alexandra Robbins, Lehrer discussed safe staffing ratios, workplace violence and other issues of great concern to NYSNA nurses.

After months of negotiations, thousands of NYC’s registered nurses from 14 citywide hospitals took their fight for patient care and safe staffing levels to the community on Thursday with a day-long citywide informational picket.
