This Holiday Season, we’ve launched a campaign, #Thankful4Nurses, asking patients, community members, and leaders from across the state: take a moment to thank the RNs. How have you benefited from the care of a nurse? Go to Thankful4Nurses.org to tell your story!

With elections coming up on November 4, nurses are taking our issues straight to the candidates. Today, NYSNA members from across Long Island endorsed 5 Long Island candidates running for office in the November general election at a press conference at the Valley Stream LIRR train station.
Over the past few years, NYSNA nurses have mobilized like never before to win fair contracts, improve conditions for our patients, and to protect access to quality healthcare for all New Yorkers.
During Tuesday’s Primary Election, RNs hit the streets to campaign for the state legislative candidates who can best represent frontline nurses and our patients. Our hard work proved successful – when the ballots were counted, the majority of candidates that we endorsed were elected.
For our next lobby day, Tuesday, May 20, we’re joining with fellow healthcare unions from across the state, including PEF, CSEA, CWA and 1199SEIU, to lobby for safe staffing and against workplace violence.
