Forum on Ebola and worker protections

The NY Committee for Occupational Safety & Health is sponsoring a forum "Ebola: Educating & Protecting Workers" on Monday, Nov. 10 – and NYSNA Occupational and Safety Health expert Lisa Baum will be one of the experts there. 

A big congratulations to Nina Pham

We want to extend our deepest congratulations to Nina Pham and her family. Nina, one of the heroic nurses who cared for Thomas Eric Duncan and the first person infected with Ebola in the U.S., is now virus-free and has been released from the hospital.

Hudson Valley and Capital Region RNs Endorse Federal and State Candidates

With elections coming up November 4, RNs are mobilizing to get out the vote for candidates who support patient care. Today, NYSNA members from the Hudson Valley and the Capital Region endorsed candidates running in the November general election at events in Albany and Westchester.

The AFL-CIO, the U.S.'s largest labor federation, has called on President Obama and Congress to put in place mandatory protections to safeguard healthcare workers and the public from Ebola.
