A winter storm warning will be in effect from 7:00 AM Wednesday, March 7, 2018 until 7:00 AM Thursday, March 8, 2018. Snow accumulations of as many as 18 inches are expected in certain areas of the state.

On Friday, March 1, Winter Storm Warnings were issued throughout New York State due to Winter Storm Riley. Downstate was hit with rain and high winds, causing flooding and power outages. Rain and snow fall was heavy in much of Upstate, with accumulation exceeding predictions in some areas.
